Things to do

The Ross of Mull offers visitors plenty of things to do and places to visit being a busy ferry port for Iona, Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. Fionnphort is a small Hebridean village at its centre is a pub with restaurant, called the Keel Row and another restaurant, Ninth Wave, which serves fresh local ingredients sourced from local fishermen, crofters and farmers.  There is also a Post Office and well stocked general and DIY store. The area is a great base to explore Mull, Iona and the surrounding area. There are:

  • Walking, Cycling, Golf
  • Kayaking/canoeing/sailing trips
  • Exploring the sandy beaches and hidden coves
  • Swim or just dip your toes in the crystal clear waters
  • Marvel at the geology of the area especially as the pink granite gleams in the evening sun
  • Visit castles and discover Mull’s rich history
  • Enjoy and join in some of the locally organised events
  • Explore the island and visit places such as Tobermory with its colourful  houses and recent fame brought by the Balamory children’s programme.
